Al Éxito
About
Bilingual Youth Leadership and Cultural Programming
Al Éxito is a Des Moines–based nonprofit serving Latino youth from 6th grade through college across Iowa. The organization's afterschool programs weave Spanish-speaking family engagement, cultural celebration, and academic support into a single pathway — especially valuable for kids from Spanish-speaking households navigating English-medium schools.

- Middle school afterschool (6th–8th grade)
- Movimiento Al Éxito — high school intensive leadership track
- Padres Unidos — Spanish-speaking parent programs
- Culturally relevant curriculum
- College preparatory and civic engagement focus

- Parent programs in Spanish
- Community celebrations of Latino culture
Experience
Al Éxito fits Des Moines Latino families who want their middle- and high-school-age kids to strengthen both Spanish and English while getting academic support and leadership development. Unlike a traditional language class, Al Éxito weaves cultural identity and language into a larger leadership program — a good fit for families wanting continuity between home language and school success.
