American Martial Arts Institute is the kung fu academy of southern New Castle County, located at 10 Peddler's Row in Newark, Delaware - just south of Wilmington and easily reachable from Bear, Christiana, New Castle, Hockessin, and the Wilmington metro. The Kids Kung Fu and Lil' Dragons programs give children a structured, energetic learning environment that builds focus, confidence, social skills, and physical conditioning through traditional Chinese martial arts training.

Kids Martial Arts Programs

The curriculum rotates on a three-month cycle covering multiple kung fu styles for broader exposure than a single-style school:
- Lil' Dragons for the youngest students
- Kids Kung Fu scaled by age and ability so peers train together
- BASIC Program (first six months): posture, stance work, basic strikes and kicks, conditioning, dojo etiquette
- Black Belt Course: advanced forms, partner work, and weapons training
- Stance work, hand techniques, footwork, and weapons material across the kung fu tradition
