About
The Anchorage Museum runs an art-meets-science classes program out of its downtown C Street campus, with family and youth options threaded through art, culture, and STEM offerings.
Programs
- Family and Youth Classes - art, science, and culture sessions for kids
- Urban Harvest - hands-on workshops tied to seasonal Alaskan food and plants
- In Context and CoLab - interdisciplinary maker-style sessions
- Textile Weaving and Upcycling Clothes - fiber arts workshops
- Robotics and other STEM-paired creative classes
What's Included
Tuition covers materials and instruction. Museum members get a 10% discount on class fees. Programs draw from the museum's permanent collection of Alaska Native art and Northern science exhibits.
Experience
The museum runs Tue-Sat 10am-6pm and Sun 12-6pm (closed Monday) with extended First Friday hours to 9pm. Programs blend art with Alaskan-specific themes - subsistence skills, Northern climate science, Indigenous culture - which sets the museum apart from typical art-class catalogs.
