Ares Peoria Jiu Jitsu Academy
About
Ares Peoria Jiu Jitsu Academy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in the Lake Pleasant Towne Center area of North Peoria, run under Professors Livio and Ana with the Ares BJJ team - a lineage with serious IBJJF World, European, and Pan pedigree and globally ranked competition experience. Multiple black and brown belt competitors round out the coaching staff, which means students of every level get instruction from people who actively compete and innovate, not just teach. The kids program splits cleanly by age: Littles Jiu Jitsu serves ages 4-5 with games-based introductions to falling, frame, posture, and the simplest positional escapes, and Kids Jiu Jitsu picks up at age 6 and runs through pre-teens with a fuller technical syllabus - standing engagements, takedowns scaled to body weight, guard play, side control retention, mount escapes, and the early submission chains taught with strict safety controls. The academy's "one schedule for the whole family" structure includes homeschool-friendly morning classes, early-morning blocks, ladies-only Gi, fundamentals tracks, and kickboxing sessions, so parents can train alongside their kids or while their kids are on the mat. Beyond pure BJJ, the room culture is built around confidence, problem-solving under pressure, and respect for training partners. The location is convenient to North Peoria, Vistancia, Sun City, Surprise, Glendale, and the West Valley corridor along Lake Pleasant Parkway. Free trial classes are standard, and gi rentals are available for first visits before families commit to ongoing training.
