Barry Brown Clay Studio is a nonprofit, volunteer-run ceramics studio and gallery in Corpus Christi operating since 2001. The studio offers youth summer pottery programs alongside adult classes and open studio memberships.
Programs for Ages 10-18
Youth Summer Pottery Program runs three 9-day sessions in June and July, capped at 12 students each. Programs include:
- Youth Summer Pottery Program (ages 10-18, 9am-12pm, $150/session): hand-building and wheel throwing
- Functional Clay: Make Your Own Planter & Bowl (ages 15+, $55): beginner slab class
- Adult wheel and hand-building classes (18+)
What's Included
- All supplies included in class fees
- Full studio: 8 electric + kick wheels, 3 electric + 2 Raku kilns, slab rollers, extruders, glaze room
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
Experience
A working studio and gallery run by volunteers since 2001. The youth summer program is capped at 12 students for focused instruction in both hand-building and wheel throwing across a 9-day session.
