Northern California's Longest-Running Improv Theatre
Founded in 1986, BATS Improv is the longest-running improvised theatre company and school in Northern California, based at the Fort Mason Center waterfront. The school runs classes year-round for all levels.
Youth Improv Program
BATS runs a dedicated Youth program separate from adult classes. Programs include:
- Youth improv classes (story-building, ensemble work)
- Two summer camp sessions (June and July start dates)
- Adult and teen classes across multiple levels
- Classes offered at sites in The Marina, The Mission, and Palo Alto

Experience
Young improvisors learn to create stories together and be part of an ensemble. The school's structure lets students progress from beginner through advanced over time inside a working improv theatre.
