Bicentennial Art Center
About
City-Run Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center
Bicentennial Art Center is operated by the City of Aurora's Cultural Services Division and offers classes in pottery, visual art, music, theatre, and dance for kids and adults across South Aurora.
Theatre Programming Alongside Visual Arts
Classes register through the city's ActiveNet system and run on city-recreation pricing rather than commercial-studio tuition rates. Programs include:
- Children's theatre classes
- Music classes
- Dance classes
- Pottery and ceramics
- Painting and visual art
- Workshop and short-format sessions
What's Included
- City-subsidized class pricing (lower than private studios)
- Multi-discipline single-venue access (kids can try theatre, then visual art, then dance)
- ActiveNet online registration
- Five-business-day withdrawal-for-credit policy
Experience
City-run programming makes this one of the most accessible entry points for Aurora kids whose families don't have private-studio budgets. The combined arts model also helps kids find their actual interest before committing to a discipline-specific studio - you can try theatre, dance, and pottery in the same building.
