Carnegie Museum of Art in Oakland offers The Art Connection, Pittsburgh's longest-running youth art class series now in its 97th year. Additional programs serve children from age 1 through teens year-round.
Kids and Teen Programs
Programs run year-round by age group. Programs include:
- The Art Connection (grades 5-8): Saturday studio classes September-February, rotating mediums
- Museum Makers (ages 1-10): weekly studio art-making with sensory experiences
- Carnegie Lab: drop-in art sessions
- Summer Camps: gallery visits and art-making
- Story Saturdays: children's literature with art themes

Experience
Carnegie Museum of Art's Art Connection has run since 1929, making it one of Pittsburgh's most established youth art programs. Museum Makers serves children as young as 1, giving the museum one of the broadest age ranges of any Pittsburgh arts venue.
