Carrollwood Cultural Center
About
Community arts campus for North Tampa
Carrollwood Cultural Center is a community-run arts nonprofit on Lowell Road in North Tampa's Carrollwood neighborhood. The building has dedicated visual-art studios, a theater space, and music rehearsal rooms, and it runs one of the most affordable kids art programs in Hillsborough County.
Age-tiered art programs
Kids classes are grouped carefully so a 6-year-old isn't in with teens. Programs include:
- Ages 5-7: introductory drawing and painting
- Ages 8-10: mixed media, watercolor
- Ages 11-13: pastels, acrylics
- Ages 14-17: character design, portfolio work
- Summer art camps
- Homeschool art programs
- Private lessons and birthday parties
What's Included
- Materials provided in-studio for most kids classes
- Community-priced tuition (well below private studios)
- Local art instructors
- Small age-grouped class sizes
- Student exhibitions at the Center's gallery
Experience
The age-tier structure alone sets it apart from most community centers - kids actually work with peers, not a grab-bag group. A good fit for North Tampa families looking for consistent year-round instruction at community-center pricing.
