Around-the-World Kids Cooking Studio
Founded by Mindy Myers, Cooking Round the World pairs hands-on cooking with cultural learning. Each week's theme "travels" kids to a different country - they cook a traditional dish, learn folktales, try language games, and play playground games from the region. The Grand Avenue studio is the Oakland flagship.
Kids Programs
Weeklong camps and after-school classes for ages 6-13. Programs include:
- Themed weeklong summer camps (Regions of Italy, China, Pizza Round the World, etc.)
- Winter and spring break holiday camps
- After-school cooking classes
- Birthday parties with chosen-country menu
- Scout field trips

- All ingredients, cookware, and aprons
- Folktale and language activities tied to the week's country
- Recipes to take home in a printed packet
- Lunch tasting of the cooked dish each day
Experience
Kids spend the morning prepping a multi-course meal from a real cuisine, breaking for cultural games and stories, then eating their cooked lunch together. Suits 6-13 year olds with mixed cooking experience - older campers tackle knife work, younger ones handle measuring and mixing.
