DNR Outdoor Adventure Center - Indoor Michigan Wilderness on the Detroit Riverfront
Michigan DNR indoor adventure center on the Detroit Riverfront, housed in the historic former Globe Building. The center brings the Michigan outdoors indoors with hands-on activities, exhibits, and simulators including walking behind a waterfall, stepping into a fishing boat, and riding mountain bikes or snowmobiles.
Programs for Kids
Michigan DNR education programming. Programs include:
- Camp Explore (ages 9-17, Detroit Riverfront and state parks)
- Nature education programs
- Archery and fishing classes
- Field trips for schools, day camps, scouts
- Family programs

Experience
Detroit families use the OAC as a year-round indoor destination, especially during Michigan winters when outdoor adventure isn't an option. The Atwater Street location is on the Detroit Riverfront, walkable from the GM Renaissance Center.
