Durham Arts Council
About
Durham Arts Council runs the city's broadest range of arts classes out of its Morris Street headquarters downtown, with kids tracks across every major medium plus theater and dance.
Programs
- School Break & Summer Camps - week-long day camps tied to school holidays
- Ceramics - hand-building and wheel sessions across age bands
- Painting and Drawing - foundational technique through portfolio prep
- Printmaking - relief, intaglio, and screenprint cohorts
- Mixed Media plus bookbinding, photography, graphic design, theater, dance, and music
What's Included
Tuition covers art supplies and instruction across the catalog. Sessions range from one-time workshops to multi-week courses, so families can sample before committing.
Experience
The Council building runs Mon-Sat 9am-9pm and Sunday 1-6pm, with classes stacked across multiple studios in a downtown civic art venue. The breadth of disciplines under one roof is the draw - a kid can move from clay to printmaking to dance across consecutive seasons without changing buildings.
