What Kids Can Do
Summit Drive winds up to the East Rock summit - kids drive or walk to 350-foot vista over New Haven harbor and Long Island Sound. Soldiers and Sailors Monument at the summit commemorates Civil War. Pardee Rose Garden has 1,200 roses peaking June-October. Trowbridge Environmental Center has live native amphibian and reptile displays plus naturalist programs. Mill River runs through the park - kids hunt for tadpoles and crayfish [marked: Summit Drive closed weekdays - walk up via College Woods trails or drive weekends only].
