105-Acre Wildlife Sanctuary Inside Long Beach
El Dorado Nature Center is a 105-acre wildlife sanctuary tucked inside El Dorado East Regional Park. Two miles of dirt trails and a quarter-mile paved trail wind around two lakes, a stream, and forested areas. The museum includes ecology displays and hands-on exhibits.
Nature Kids Discovery Camps
Run by the City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine department. Programs include:
- Nature Kids Discovery Summer Camp (Monday-Friday 10am-12pm)
- Year-round nature classes
- School field trips
- Self-guided trail access
- Museum visits with ecology exhibits
- Special seasonal events

Experience
Rare LA-County urban refuge with real walking-distance wildlife - rabbits, lizards, raptors, occasional coyote. Open Tuesday-Sunday 8am-5pm, museum until 4pm. $100/week for the summer camp - among the more affordable nature camps in the LA region.
