Colorado Avalanche Training Home
Family Sports Center is a 150,000 sq ft family entertainment complex in Centennial, southeast of Denver, and the official practice facility of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche. The ice arena features two full sheets and hosts public skating, learn-to-skate, youth hockey, figure skating, and adult leagues alongside Avs practice ice.
Programs for Kids
The complex runs structured programming alongside Avalanche-partner sessions. Programs include:
- Avalanche Learn to Play for ages 5-9 (head-to-toe equipment included)
- Learn to Skate USA group classes
- Youth hockey clinics and skill camps
- Tier 1 Elite (Colorado Thunderbirds) and Littleton Hockey Association partnership
- Figure-skating progression sessions

Experience
Beginners spend Learn-to-Play sessions in full equipment working balance, falling, and basic strokes; older players move into in-house leagues and Tier 1 Thunderbirds tracks. The two-sheet layout supports parallel youth and NHL ice usage. The Avalanche practice setting is a strong draw for families curious about the NHL pipeline.
