Lee County's Professional Theatre Education Pipeline
Florida Rep Education is the conservatory arm of Florida Repertory Theatre, a working professional theatre on Bay Street in downtown Fort Myers. Programming reaches 35,000+ young people and families per year through classes, camps, and in-school work.
Five-Pillar Program Structure
Education runs year-round around the regular September-May theatre season. Programs include:
- Conservatory Productions (full youth-cast plays and musicals)
- Classes for Youth (ages 8-16, six-week sessions capped at 20 students)
- Camp Florida Rep (two-week musical-theatre intensives, ages 8-18)
- Mini-Stars program for younger kids
- Teen Programming with one-off masterclasses
- In-School Residency Programming
- Theatre for Young Audience Series
What's Included
- Class sizes capped at 20 for individual attention
- Instruction by working theatre professionals
- Two-week musical intensives ($440) with Broadway Junior and Youth Edition titles
- Conservatory-track productions on the company's mainstage
Experience
The five-pillar structure scales from in-school workshops up through summer intensives and a conservatory track. Serious young actors can build over multiple years inside a working professional regional theatre, which is rare outside major metros.
