Fort De Soto Park is Pinellas County's largest park - 1,136 acres spread across five islands on the Florida Gulf Coast and Tampa Bay. Seven miles of waterfront, historic fort, fishing piers, swimming beaches, camping, and 4 miles of paved trails.

What Kids Can Do

Two lifeguarded swim beaches - North Beach (consistently rated top US beach) plus East Beach. Historic 1898 Fort De Soto for kids to explore with self-guided tour brochure. Two fishing piers (Bay Pier and Gulf Pier) for kid-friendly fishing. Four miles of paved trails for biking and stroller walks. Dog beach, ferry to Egmont Key, and kayak/paddleboard rentals at the bayside. Camping at 236 tent sites [marked: $5 toll on Pinellas Bayway to enter park - cash or SunPass].
