About
Francis Tuttle Technology Center - Kids Cooking
Francis Tuttle Technology Center runs Saturdays R-4 Kids, a community cooking class series at its Rockwell campus in Oklahoma City. Taught by instructor Vera Cheek, the classes give young cooks hands-on time in the kitchen as a first step into the center's broader culinary offerings.
Classes for Kids
Sessions are hands-on and rotate through sweet and savory dishes. Recent classes have included:
- Pizza, meatballs, and baguettes
- Cheesecake, apple pie, and cupcakes
- Cinnamon rolls and donuts
The center offers these youth classes as part of its Lifelong Learning community courses.
What's Included
- Ingredients and equipment for each dish
- Instruction from a dedicated cooking teacher
- Use of the center's professional teaching kitchen
Experience
Classes welcome young cooks roughly ages 5 to 15 across the kids and junior-chef levels, building real skills one dish at a time. The community-course format makes it an easy, low-pressure way for kids to try cooking.
