Norfolk's Downtown Theater for Young Performers

Generic Theater for Kids (GTK) operates out of 212 College Place in downtown Norfolk and produces classes and seasonal showcases for kids ages 5 through 18. Each course runs as a small-cast workshop where every student gets a speaking part in the final performance.

Programs by Age 5-18

Saturday classes split by track and age. Programs include:
- Tiny Tots Musical Theater (ages 5-7)
- Musical Theater (ages 8 to teens)
- Acting for Stage (ages 8 to teens)
- Acting for TV & Movies (ages 9 to teens)
- Camera operator workshops

Experience

Better fit for kids who like building toward a single end-of-session show rather than competing for parts. The screen-acting and camera-operator tracks are unusual at this age and a draw for kids interested in film.
