HudsonWay Immersion School
About
HudsonWay Immersion School in Midtown West
Founded in 2005, HudsonWay Immersion School runs a full dual-language immersion program in Midtown West, on West 52nd Street, for students from age two through eighth grade, with a sister campus in Stirling, New Jersey. Children learn from native-speaking Mandarin or Spanish teachers alongside native English teachers who deliver the American curriculum, so they grow up genuinely bilingual and biliterate.
Language Programs
The defining feature is true immersion: the target language is the medium of instruction, not a standalone subject:
- Mandarin or Spanish dual-language tracks for ages two through eighth grade
- Math, science, art, music, and daily routines taught in the target language
- Reading and writing built in both languages as children advance
- After-school classes open to families not enrolled full-time
- Summer camps themed each week around a different Mandarin- or Spanish-speaking region
What's Included
- Founded in 2005 (two decades of track record)
- Native-speaking Mandarin or Spanish teachers plus native English teachers
- Sister campus in Stirling, New Jersey
- Summer program science, art, music, and cooking taught in the target language
Experience
Research links immersion to stronger second-language fluency than a once-a-day class can produce. For New York families committed to deep, sustained bilingualism rather than introductory exposure, HudsonWay is a dedicated immersion environment where children genuinely live the language across the school day.
