Idlewild Park is Reno's flagship 49-acre city park along the Truckee River - playground, swimming pool, rose garden, carousel, mini train, picnic shelters, and disc golf. The city's go-to family destination since 1908.
What Kids Can Do
The historic 1909 Looff Carousel runs seasonally (May-September) - vintage hand-carved horses for $2/ride. Mini-train ride loops the park during warm months. The Truckee River Walk passes through the park (5 miles paved each direction) for biking and stroller walks. Reno Rose Garden has 1,500+ roses blooming May-October. Idlewild Pool (heated outdoor) summer-only. Playground and disc golf on-site [marked: carousel and mini-train operate Memorial Day-Labor Day only].
What's Included
Free day-use of playground, river walk, rose garden, disc golf, and picnic shelters. Pool admission $5-8. Carousel and train rides $2 each.
