Yamaha Method Music School

Irvine Yamaha Music Center is the local franchise of the Yamaha Music School method, structured around age-graded group classes that introduce kids to keyboard, ear training, and reading from preschool age.

Kids Programs

Programs are sequenced by age, starting at 3 with group classes before transitioning to private instruction. Programs include:
- Music Wonderland (age 3) - intro group class
- Junior Music Course (ages 4-5) - keyboard, singing, ear training
- Young Musicians Course (ages 6-8) - reading, theory, keyboard
- Private lessons (piano, voice, sax, trumpet, guitar, clarinet, violin, flute)

Experience

The Yamaha method emphasizes group musicianship and ear training before pure instrument technique - good fit for kids starting at 3-5 who benefit from peer learning. Older starters (6+) can go straight into private lessons.
