Lower East Side Community Center With a Full Youth Art School
Manny Cantor Center on East Broadway is one of the anchor community institutions of the Lower East Side, and its youth art program is among the most affordable serious art-education options in Manhattan.
Youth and Teen Classes
Age-banded by school-age cohort. Options include:
- Youth (ages 8-13): Pottery, Drawing, Painting, Comics & Cartoons - ~$205-$435/term
- Teen (ages 13-18): Ceramics, Drawing, Screen Printing, Portfolio Development - $260-$435/term
- Weekday afternoons 4-6pm
- Summer Youth Arts Intensive ages 8-13 (9am-3pm, $725)
- Teen Arts Intensive ages 14-17 (10am-3pm, $435)

- Ceramics tuition includes all materials (clay, tools, glaze)

Experience
A legitimate art school dressed as a JCC class schedule - the Teen Portfolio Development track in particular is a real pipeline for kids aiming at LaGuardia, Fiorello, or specialized high school art programs. Prices are notably lower than the comparable 92Y or MoMA classes.
