Master Kim's World Taekwondo on McClintock Drive
Master Kim's World Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial arts academy at 7650 S McClintock Drive in south Tempe, serving families across Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Ahwatukee, and Guadalupe. Head instructor Grand Master Young Kim holds an 8th Degree Black Belt directly certified by Kukkiwon (the World Taekwondo headquarters in Seoul) and brings more than 25 years of teaching experience to the dojang.
Kids Martial Arts Programs
The kids taekwondo program follows the WT Olympic-style curriculum, scaled by age and rank:
- Basic stances and blocks
- Taegeuk poomsae forms
- Kicking combinations (front, roundhouse, side, axe, spinning, jumping)
- Structured one-step sparring and progressive controlled kyorugi with protective gear
- Younger groups focus on listening, motor control, and confidence; older kids add conditioning and kicking precision

Experience
Beyond the technical syllabus, the program applies the five tenets to how children handle setbacks at the dojang, at school, and in family life. Family classes also let parents train alongside kids.
