NOR Park District's Age-Tiered Kid Cooking
The North of the River Recreation and Park District runs Bakersfield's largest public kids cooking program out of its Riverview and Greenacres facilities. Three age-grouped tracks plus summer camps mean every cooking class is pitched at the right developmental level.
Kids Programs
Three age tracks across NOR facilities. Programs include:
- Kiddos in the Kitchen (ages 4-7, 2-day drop-off class at Riverview)
- Ready, Set, Cook! (ages 8-10, four-week Friday morning series at Riverview)
- Young Chef's Academy (ages 11-17, single-class Fridays at Greenacres, themed - pizza, tacos, breakfast, pasta, baking, grilling)
- Spring and summer registration windows

Experience
Drop-off classes for younger kids; older Young Chef's Academy students tackle a full themed menu each session. Pricing $55-$120 per session depending on track, with residency and pass discounts. Greenacres facility at 2014 Calloway Dr handles older-kid sessions; Riverview at 3825 Riverlakes Dr handles younger groups.
