Pearson Metropark
About
600-Acre Black Swamp Remnant East of Toledo
Pearson Metropark preserves 600 acres of original Great Black Swamp habitat - one of the last remnants of the 1,500-square-mile wetland that once covered northwest Ohio. Boardwalk trails, kid-favorite playground, and the Pearson Playground inclusive play area.
What Kids Can Do
Pearson Playground is an all-abilities nature-based play area with sand pits, water features, and tree-house climbers. Boardwalk trails wind through old-growth swamp forest with educational signs explaining the Black Swamp ecosystem. Macomber Center indoor exhibits cover local wildlife and Black Swamp history. Picnic shelters and Gazebo bookable for parties. Ice skating pond in winter [marked: boardwalk gets crowded weekends - go weekday mornings for quieter visits].
What's Included
Free day-use of all trails, boardwalks, playground, and Macomber Center. Pavilions and Gazebo reservable through Metroparks.
