Philadelphia Starlings
About
Mission-Driven Philly Youth Club
The Philadelphia Starlings run their youth indoor programs out of South Philadelphia High School and Masterman School, teaching the sport to Philly kids who wouldn't otherwise have access to organized volleyball.
Beginner and Intermediate Youth (Grades K–8)
The program is structured as affordable seasonal sessions rather than year-round club commitment. Classes include:
- Beginner track for grades K–8
- Intermediate track for grades 5–8
- One practice per week over a 6–7 week session
- Fundamentals and introductory game strategy
- USAV/AAU registration handled by the club
What's Included
- $180 flat program fee (sessional)
- Registration with USA Volleyball and AAU
- Coaching at South Philly HS or Masterman School
- No tournament travel required
- Community service piece (Broad Street Run participation in May)
Experience
Unusually affordable entry point into organized volleyball in Philadelphia. Works best for families whose kids want to learn the sport in a structured weekly session before considering a competitive club — and the community-service component reinforces the club's youth-development mission.
