RISD Museum at 224 Benefit Street in Providence is the museum of Rhode Island School of Design, offering free admission for visitors 18 and under and dedicated family programming. Programs include drop-in art-making, gallery storytelling, and structured family activities.
Kids and Family Programs
The museum runs structured age-grouped programs alongside open gallery access. Programs include:
- Tours for Tots (ages 3-5): gallery storytelling and creative activities
- Family See & Sketch (ages 6+): drawing and hands-on creation, registration required
- Open Studio (all ages): monthly artist-designed projects, select Sundays October-May
- Free Sundays 10am-5pm and Thursday evenings 5-8pm
