Salt Lake City Shotokan Karate Dojo runs out of Payne Gymnasium near the University of Utah, teaching traditional Japan Karate Association style Shotokan to kids, men and women on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Experience

Pure traditional Shotokan with the standard kihon (basics) / kata (forms) / kumite (sparring) split. The dojo culture is closer to a university club than a commercial chain, which suits families that want classical karate without belt-test contracts or franchise pricing. Kids work technique alongside adults in a small respectful environment.
