Shogun Judo
About
Shogun Judo on Chandler Boulevard
Shogun Judo Club sits on West Chandler Boulevard in west Chandler, one of the few dedicated judo clubs in the southeast Valley. The school teaches traditional Kodokan-style judo for kids and adults, structured around clear age-separated tiers and a consistent weekly training schedule.
Kids Judo Programs
The kids curriculum splits children into two distinct age tiers with multiple weekly training slots, focusing on throwing technique, breakfalls, and traditional judo etiquette. Programs include:
- Under 8 Years Old (Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-6:30pm, Saturday 9:30-10:30am)
- Juniors, ages 9-14 (Tuesday and Thursday 6:00-7:30pm, Saturday 10:00-11:30am)
- Adult Judo (continued curriculum for older teens and parents)
- Three weekly training days for both kids tiers (Tue/Thu/Sat)
What's Included
- Dedicated judo club (not BJJ-with-judo)

Experience
Few southeast-Valley schools focus specifically on judo as the primary curriculum - most run judo as a side-class to BJJ. Shogun's three-day-per-week schedule for both kids tiers gives serious commitment options for families that want their child progressing through proper Kodokan ranks. Pattern fits Chandler families that want their child grounded in traditional judo throws and standing grappling rather than the ground-focused BJJ that dominates the Valley grappling market.
