Space One Eleven

Space One Eleven runs City Center Art, a long-running youth program that brings professional Birmingham artists into the studio with grade-school and high-school students.

Programs

• City Center Art (grades 2-12) - core youth program meeting fall and spring semesters
• Summer Art Camps - week-long sessions across multiple grade levels
• Multi-week sessions taught by working professional artists
• Drawing, painting, and mixed-media instruction by grade band

What's Included

Classes use a sliding-scale tuition model with free or reduced spots available based on family income, so cost rarely keeps a kid out. All studio materials are provided during class sessions.

Experience

The center sits downtown on 2nd Avenue North inside a working contemporary art venue, so students see exhibitions and meet practicing artists rather than just visiting a classroom. Sessions run Tuesday through Friday with appointments available outside posted hours.
