Highlands Cooking School with Kids Tracks

Stir Cooking School operates two Denver kitchens (Highlands and Downtown Union Station) running recreational classes, kids and teen sessions, and STEAM-themed summer camps.

Kids Programs

• Kids and teen cooking sessions designed to be more interactive than typical adult classes
• Summer Camp for ages 9-14 featuring hands-on cooking with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) elements
• Family-friendly cooking classes where adults and children participate side by side

Class duration is typically 3 hours: about 2 hours cooking, 1 hour eating the meal together.

• All ingredients and tools provided in the teaching kitchens
• Side-by-side instruction with professional chef instructors
• Recipes to take home
• The completed meal is shared in the kitchen at the end of class

Experience

Highlands location occupies a historic neighborhood building with a more home-kitchen feel; downtown Union Station kitchen is a larger, more polished space. STEAM camps appeal to kids who like seeing the science behind techniques (emulsification, caramelization, bread fermentation) alongside the cooking itself.
