Telfair Museums - Jepson Center

Telfair Museums runs its youth art program out of the Jepson Center on West York Street, Savannah's contemporary art museum on Telfair Square.

Programs

• Youth Painting & Drawing (9-12) - foundational technique with rotating mediums
• Youth Painting & Drawing (12-16) - advanced studio work for older students
• Digital Photography - shooting and editing fundamentals
• Summer Art Camps - daytime week-long camps in summer
• After-school sessions running 4:30-6pm Monday-Friday in 4-9 week blocks

What's Included

All materials are provided, and locations get emailed a week before the first class. Camps include museum admission and gallery visits as part of the program.

Experience

Classes meet inside the Jepson Center's modernist Moshe Safdie-designed building on Telfair Square, with some sessions moving outdoors to the surrounding squares for plein-air work. The museum context means studio time alternates with looking at the contemporary collection.
