TFF Judo and Wrestling
About
Heart of White Plains Judo
TFF Judo and Wrestling sits on Central Park Avenue in White Plains, the Westchester County seat just north of Yonkers, on top of competition-grade Fuji mats with climbing ropes set up for full conditioning work. The school is one of the few dedicated judo facilities in the Yonkers metro, drawing students from Yonkers, Scarsdale, Bronxville, and the surrounding southern Westchester suburbs who want grappling instruction outside the BJJ-dominant mainstream.
Kids Judo Programs
The developmental program is structured to grow with a child, emphasizing the principles and values of judo's founder, Jigoro Kano. Programs include:
- Beginner Kids Judo (intro to throws, breakfalls, and the etiquette of the mat)
- Intermediate Kids Judo (continued randori practice and competition prep for those who want it)
- Wrestling classes (separate program on the same schedule)
- Summer Camp (multi-week summer intensive)
What's Included
- Top-of-the-line Fuji competition mats
- Climbing ropes and conditioning equipment built into the room
- Coaching focused on character development alongside technique
Experience
Operating hours run Monday through Friday from 3pm to 8pm and Saturday from 9am to 4pm, fitting the after-school schedule for school-age kids. The room is calm, structured, and traditional in tone, suited to families who want their child learning a discipline built on respect and steady physical mastery rather than padded participation rewards.
