Wichita Kids Cooking Studio at The Art Park

The Art Park runs Young Chefs cooking classes for elementary-aged kids in its NE Wichita facility alongside its art programming. Small classes with a 6-to-1 child-teacher ratio let every kid hands-on prep, cook, and plate.

Kids Programs

Two age tiers with themed classes and seasonal camps. Programs include:
- Young Chefs classes for ages 5-8 (foundational - washing produce, mixing, simple recipes)
- Young Chefs for ages 9-12 (independence with knives, blenders, stovetops)
- Themed sessions: My Pet Made My Breakfast, Eating the Rainbow, Dough-Nuts, Recipes From Around the World
- Summer culinary camps

What's Included

• All ingredients and kid-scaled equipment
• Apron and recipes to take home
• Instruction on food safety, cooking terminology, etiquette, table setting
• 6:1 student-instructor ratio

Experience

Developmentally-paced classes - 5-year-olds practice measuring and mixing while 11-year-olds handle the knife work and stovetop. The Art Park's broader creative environment means cooking shares space with art studios, giving kids a chance to explore both.
