Purpose-Built Cookery School in the Mission
The Civic Kitchen is a recreational cooking school in San Francisco's Mission district founded in 2017 by Chris Bonomo and Chef Jen Nurse. Hands-on classes for adults plus dedicated teen cooking camps.
Programs for Teens
Multi-day teen camps and topical classes. Programs include:
- 5-Day Teen Cooking Camp (ages 11-14)
- Hands-on knife skills sessions
- Pasta-making instruction
- Baking and pastry basics
- Themed cuisine classes

Experience
Mission Street teaching kitchen with a focus on technique over recipes. Teen camps run consecutive weekdays in summer covering knife work, pasta, baking, and shared cooking projects.
