The Rep - Arkansas Repertory Theatre
About
Arkansas's Largest Non-Profit Professional Theatre
The Rep (Arkansas Repertory Theatre) is the state's largest non-profit professional theatre, downtown Little Rock on Main Street, with a tiered Education program covering high school internships, mid-semester youth day camps, and advanced techniques workshops.
High School Academy and Youth Day Camps
Programs split between paid teen internships and elementary-aged break camps. Programs include:
- High School Academy (10th-12th grade summer paid internship) - rotation through scenic design, costuming, lighting, sound, stage management, administration
- "Schools Out!" Youth Day Camps during mid-semester breaks (elementary/middle school)
- Advanced Techniques Workshops (performance, writing, more) for young adults and adults
- Production casting opportunities
What's Included
- Downtown Little Rock 601 Main Street facility
- Paid internship structure for HS Academy participants
- Multiple theatrical departments to rotate through
- Mid-semester camp scheduling aligned with school breaks (childcare-useful for working parents)
- [email protected] enrollment contact
Experience
The paid-internship HS Academy is unusual - kids spend their summer doing real production work and get paid for it. The departmental rotation model means teens leave with hands-on exposure to areas (lighting, sound design, stage management) that are typically invisible in pure acting programs.
