Community Music and Dance Program of The Hartt School

Hartt Community Division is the community-extension program of The Hartt School at the University of Hartford, headquartered on Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford. Programs serve over 2,800 students across Connecticut from birth through adult.

Programs Across Disciplines

Comprehensive music and dance offerings, accredited by NASM and NASD. Programs include:
- Private lessons in piano, strings, winds, brass, percussion, voice, guitar, harp, organ, music composition
- First Steps in Music (FSIM) - early childhood program for children birth to 5 with caregivers
- Suzuki orchestras and ensembles (Stringendo, Virtuosi, Sinfonia)
- Jazz ensembles
- Vocal honors programs
- Summer intensives (Hartt Suzuki Institute, Meet the Masters, Summer Vocal Institute, Flute Intensive)
- Dance training including Summer Dance Intensive (ages 8-18)
