Golf Digest Best Teacher Leading Junior Programs
Winding River Golf Course on the southwest side of Indianapolis runs junior programs through its academy, directed by Chris Clemens — named a 2026–2027 Golf Digest Best Teacher. Programming includes First Tee classes, PGA Jr. League, and winter training.
Junior Programs
First Tee and PGA Jr. League at one facility:
- First Tee Program (ages 6–17) — beginner and intermediate classes preparing golfers for PGA Jr. League
- PGA Jr. League (ages 6–17) — team scramble competition Fridays in June and July, separate divisions for under-13 and 14–17
- Winter training — Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
- Personalized team jerseys in PGA Jr. League

Experience
Winding River combines Golf Digest-recognized coaching with First Tee's structured curriculum — a rare pairing at a public course.
