Blue Heron Nature Preserve

Wild Buckhead Sanctuary

Blue Heron Nature Preserve protects 30 acres of woodlands and creek habitat in the middle of Buckhead, just minutes from the city's busiest streets. The nonprofit runs nature education from a building set right inside the preserve, so kids step from the parking lot into the woods.

Little Blue Herons & Great Blue Herons

Summer camp, after-school sessions, and school break camps split by age group with hands-on activities each week. Programs include:
- Little Blue Herons summer camp (ages 4-6)
- Great Blue Herons summer camp (ages 7-12)

- After-school nature club
- Scout badge workshops
- Second Saturday Safaris

Experience

Days centered on Nancy Creek - kids wade in with nets, build forts in the woods, race handmade boats, meet local wildlife. Weather-on, screen-off programming designed to grow comfort outside and basic ecological literacy.
