Midtown Nature Camp at Piedmont Park
Piedmont Park Conservancy runs EnviroVentures, a science and nature day camp inside the 200-acre Piedmont Park in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Campers spend most of the day exploring habitats throughout the park itself - lake, meadow, woodlands - with daily swimming at the Piedmont Park Pool.
EnviroVentures Summer Camp
Eight weeks, June through July, with rotating weekly themes. Programs include:
- EnviroVentures day camp (ages 5-10)
- Counselor in Training program (ages 11-13)
- Wildlife habitats, ocean ecosystems, reptiles, nature investigation themes
- Wheels Day Fridays (bring bike/scooter)
- Daily swimming at park pool
- Park stewardship and arts/crafts
What's Included
- Naturalist counselors and themed weekly curriculum
- Pool access daily
- 8 a.m.-5 p.m. day with optional aftercare to 6 p.m.
Experience
Urban nature done well - kids learn ecology in real park habitats without leaving Midtown. Cost is $350/week, with prorated weeks for holidays. Members get priority registration. Great fit for families who want a nature camp accessible by MARTA.
