Buffalo AKG Art Museum

Buffalo's flagship art museum offers a full kids studio program inside its Elmwood Avenue galleries, with hands-on classes for everyone from infants through teens.

Programs

• Art Baby Stroller Tours - gallery walks for parents with babies and toddlers
• Kids Studio: Clay (5-7) - colorful tile design and hand-building basics
• KidsPlay with Clay (6-8) - hands-on coil and slab projects
• Kids' Studio: Clay (8-12) - tile design plus faux stained-glass plexiglass painting
• Summer Studio Clay Week (8-12) - five-day camp building coil bud vases and ceramic sculptures

What's Included

All clay, paint, plexiglass, and tools provided. Saturday classes run $25 per session and summer camps $495 per week, with member discounts and need-based scholarships available.

Experience

Classes meet inside the museum's expanded education studios, so kids work surrounded by the AKG's modern and contemporary collection. Sessions are taught by museum educators who blend studio time with short gallery visits to connect what's being made with what's on the walls.
