22-Mile Greenbelt Along the Trinity River

Campion Trails is a 22-mile paved greenbelt along the Elm Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River through Irving - one of the longest urban trails in North Texas. Connects multiple parks, playgrounds, and Las Colinas.

What Kids Can Do

The paved trail is stroller, bike, and scooter friendly for kids of all ages. Wildlife viewing along the river includes turtles, herons, hawks, and white-tailed deer. Multiple trailhead parks each have playgrounds and picnic shelters - Sam Houston Trail Park, La Villita Park, Bird's Fort Trail Park, California Crossing Park, Trinity View Park, and Mountain Creek Preserve. Easy access points every 2-3 miles let families pick short loops [marked: full 22 miles too long for most kids - pick a 2-3 mile section between adjacent trailheads].
