Trinity River Mountain Creek Preserve protects 220 acres of bottomland hardwood and prairie at the confluence of Mountain Creek and the West Fork of the Trinity River - jointly managed by City of Irving and Dallas County.
What Kids Can Do
More than 5 miles of paved Campion Trails extension run along the river with bird-watching platforms. Playground, basketball court, picnic pavilion, and shaded rest areas at the main entrance. Canoe and kayak launches on Mountain Creek. White-tailed deer, herons, hawks, and beavers visible along trails. Pavilion with grills bookable for parties [marked: trails connect to 22-mile Campion Trail system - watch trail markers to avoid getting lost].

Free day-use of trails, playground, courts, and pavilion (reservable). Boat launch free for canoes/kayaks.
