Centennial Sportsplex
About
Nashville's Downtown City-Run Ice Complex
Centennial Sportsplex is Metro Nashville Parks' all-in-one recreation center on 25th Avenue North, half a mile from Centennial Park. The complex includes two full-size ice rinks operating year-round - the original public-rec home of Nashville hockey before the Ford Ice Centers opened, and still the lead venue for the Nashville Youth Hockey League.
Programs For Kids
Both Metro-run and partner-org programs run out of the ice arenas. Programs include:
- Public ice skating sessions
- Learn to Skate group classes for children
- Nashville Youth Hockey League (NYHL) youth leagues
- Open hockey and stick time
- Birthday party packages on ice
- Figure skating lessons
What's Included
- Two indoor sheets, used in parallel for hockey + figure skating most evenings
- Skate rentals available for public sessions
- Locker rooms on the hockey side
- Metro Parks pricing (lower than private rinks)
- Other Sportsplex amenities for siblings (pool, tennis, fitness)
Experience
Centennial draws the broadest mix of families across Davidson County because of its downtown-adjacent location and public-rec pricing. Most NYHL house games happen here on weekends, and the parallel two-sheet setup means lessons rarely get bumped for league practice.
