Nashville Youth Hockey League

🏒 Hockey Ages 5-16

About

Nashville's Original Youth Hockey Association

The Nashville Youth Hockey League (NYHL) has run youth hockey in greater Nashville since 1964 - long before the Predators arrived - and remains the primary house and recreational hockey organization in town. NYHL games and practices live at Centennial Sportsplex, with player flow extending into Predators-affiliated travel programs as kids age up.

Programs For Kids

Programs cover the traditional USA Hockey age divisions plus the Learn to Play entry point. Programs include:
- Learn to Play Hockey (ages 5-9 introduction)
- House league play across 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U
- Recreational seasons in fall and winter
- Summer skills and stick-time
- Player development clinics

What's Included

  • All home games at Centennial Sportsplex's two ice sheets
  • USA Hockey-registered coaches and ADM curriculum
  • House registration includes jersey
  • Volunteer board structure (non-profit since 1964)
  • Path into Nashville Jr. Predators travel programs

Experience

NYHL is the obvious first stop for any Nashville-area family new to hockey - 60-plus years of continuity, public-rink pricing through Metro Parks, and a recreational-first culture that doesn't push competitive tryouts on first-year players.
