Eagle River Nature Center - Gateway to Chugach State Park
Nature center inside Chugach State Park, one of Alaska's largest state parks. Located at the end of Eagle River Road in the Eagle River area of Anchorage, the center serves as the gateway to a glacial river valley with extensive hiking trails.
Programs for Kids
Programming through Friends of Eagle River Nature Center. Programs include:
- Weekend nature programs (Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m., children and adults)
- Free daily nature walks (summer months)
- Guided nature programs
- Overnight cabin and yurt rentals
- School field trips

Experience
Anchorage families use the Nature Center as a recurring outdoor destination, ~40-minute drive from downtown Anchorage along Eagle River Road. The end-of-road location provides immediate trail access into Chugach State Park.
