100-Acre Preserve on the American River
Effie Yeaw Nature Center sits inside a 100-acre nature preserve along the American River Parkway, with interpretive trails through riparian woodlands. The center includes a replica Maidu summer village showing how the area's first inhabitants lived off the land.
Under the Oaks Day Camps
Year-round seasonal camps - Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter - plus afternoon STEM sessions. Programs include:
- Planet Protectors (age 5)
- Nature Olympians, Wildlife Investigators, Creature Features, Woodland Tales, Wildlife Caretakers (ages 6-7)
- Birds of a Feather, Outdoor Adventures, Nature-ology (ages 8-11)
- Junior Rangers: Mastering the Elements (ages 12-14)
- Afternoon STEM camps (Minecraft Coding, Robotics, Stop Motion, Engineering)
- Maidu cultural programming
