Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden - Oldest Public Wildflower Garden in the U.S.
16-acre native plant reserve and bird sanctuary inside Theodore Wirth Park, established in 1907 and the oldest public wildflower garden in the United States. Operated by the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board.
Programs for Kids
Seasonal Garden programming through the MPRB. Programs include:
- Naturalist-led guided walks
- Self-guided exploration with the Martha Crone Visitors Shelter
- School field trips
- Family discovery programs

- Martha Crone Visitors Shelter (staffed by volunteer or Garden naturalist 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tue-Sun)

Experience
Minneapolis families use the Wildflower Garden for free seasonal walks and structured naturalist programs. The Theodore Wirth Parkway location is in the western edge of Minneapolis, surrounded by the larger Theodore Wirth Park trail system.
