Natural History Museum + 75-Acre Forest
Fernbank pairs a permanent natural history museum with Fernbank Forest, an old-growth woodland accessible via the museum grounds in Druid Hills. Exhibits cover dinosaurs, Georgia ecosystems, and live animal encounters. NatureQuest is the dedicated kids' play-and-discovery zone inside the museum.
Camps & Children's Programs
Summer Camp runs Monday-Friday with a different theme each day. Camp groups split by age range. Programs include:
- Summer Camp ages 5-7
- Summer Camp ages 8-10
- NatureQuest immersive play (drop-in)
- Themed daily activities: Ancient Civilizations, Field Day, Reptile Day, Mad Scientist, Paleontology
- School field trips and IMAX programs
What's Included
- Educator-led activities and live animal encounters
- Camp access to museum galleries and Fernbank Forest trails
- Extended care available 8:15 a.m. and until 5:30 p.m.
Experience
One of the few places in the Southeast where kids can move between an old-growth forest and full natural history galleries in the same day. Camp sessions blend hands-on science labs with outdoor exploration; member discount applies.
